Our Journey of Love: 04/01/2008

We had a very busy day today. Went to the zoo where Karalee had a blast looking at all the animals and was even pointing out some to us which was very exciting! I held her hands and let her walk a little bit and she did really well with that, was quite proud of herself!

After that we had a bbq in the driveway, very yummy! And chatted with our friend Jim who was doing taxes-yuck! Karalee had flavored applesauce and some cheerios then we went inside and she nursed for a bit before taking an hour nap. Once she was up from her nap she and Max helped me distribute flyers and business cards for my jewelry business. Cross your fingers! We were pretty tired after all that!

Once we got back I decided it was bath time to wash all the sun block and dirt off. I can proudly (??) say I have now joined ranks with all my friends who's kiddo's have let loose poopies in the tub! Lol Least she was already clean and it was just a couple floaters so it wasn't a big deal. Dana and I thought it was hilarious though! LOL

As you can tell I'm attempting to keep up our blog a bit better. I was laughing with my mom last night because it started out once a week faithfully...then it was every couple weeks...now it's averaging once a month LOL. Ah well. As my friend Amber pointed out about e-mailing-which I'm slacking on too-it doesn't have to be long to be worth sending so I'm taking that to heart and trying to post when I get a few minutes of peace. Wish me luck!

Time to rest, while I decide whether or not to crawl

Can you believe in a few short weeks my baby girl will be one?? I sure can't! It seems like I just got the positive pregnancy test lol. I look at pictures from each month watching her grow and it's amazing to see how fast time has gone and how much she's grown. She's gotten longer hair, more expressions, teeth, more personality...gosh the list just goes on! She's the most amazing little person I've had the pleasure of knowing. You can already see the joy she holds for life and how much fun she has! She has so much compassion for people...oh I could go on and on!

Dana designed her invites-which went out in the mail today so be on the look out! We decided on the girly theme of My Little Pony so I went and picked up some decorations with that theme. He's going to design her Thank You cards too but that will be after the party most likely.

Let's see, to date she has 5 teeth! Two on top and three on the bottom..I see weaning fully in her future soon! Lol She'll walk holding onto our fingers and is a speed demon behind her lion walker! She loves to help me "sort" laundry aka take everything in reach off the couch lol! We have a blast spoiling her and look forward to keeping it up! I actually took my splurge money from taxes and bought out Babies R us! Lol Got her a ton of outfits for her birthday and a bunch of toys. Some she's already gotten to play with but we kept a few to wrap. I already hung her clothes up in the closet but I haven't had her wearing too many of them, I let her wear the ones that are 12 months but the 18 months I'm mostly keeping out.

She's 18 pounds 8 ounces, 28 1/2 inches tall as of her last doctor's appointment. She loves to give kisses and hugs, and we in turn love getting them! She's been cleared to eat table food so I no longer purchase the baby food. She had half a grilled cheese sandwich at daycare on April 10th, I gave her some pancake this morning (April 12th) and she had spaghetti last night (April 11th) She's doing really well with it! I bought some applesauce and some applesauce that's flavored with strawberry and various other flavors. I also got her a variety of fruit cups and she loves to eat those!

Dana loves to put her in his computer chair and spin her, she gets the biggest grin and laugh out of that..until she gets dizzy then it takes her a minute to make her brain stop spinning! Lol Dana laughs because her eyes spin for a couple seconds after he's stopped her and he finds that quite hilarious! Mean guy! Hee hee

Karalee has a blast around other kids so I'm excited that when we add #2 to the mix-don't ask when, our timetable is top secret hee hee-that she'll be a fantastic big sister. Hopefully she won't be like I was and beat the crud out of her brother and an overall mean little thing! Lol I did play an April Fool's joke on Dana and hand him a pregnancy test and said "I'm pregnant, congratulations!" 'Bout the time he deciphered (after all he isn't like my female friends online and addicted to, as we term it, peeing on a stick (POAS) so he can't read them at a glance) that one line means negative I went April Fool's!! We got a good laugh out of it and all his friends at work got a laugh as well!

She's doing really well with bottles, just finished drinking one for Dana as I type this matter of fact! She'll also take one for me which is nice...sometimes the "girls" need a break from someone's sharp little teeth nipping. :-) She can wave and loves to wave with both hands and give this huge smile!

Karalee discovered that she can climb the stairs herself...until Mommy and Daddy catch her! Little stinker climbed two stairs herself and was getting ready to tackle the rest when Daddy nabbed her lol. She did get to climb them she just had a "safety net" behind her! She's so fast it's unreal! She's a giggling fiend and thinks it's hilarious to start laughing for no reason or to start laughing with us even if she doesn't know why you're laughing. She loves being tickled and laughs like crazy.

She's sleeping pretty well in her crib by herself although she is still walking up, her peditrician gave me a minor scolding that it's because I nurse her to sleep more often then not so she thinks she has to do that to sleep. However she does sleep for everyone else when they just hold her and snuggle so I'm sure once I wean her completly we'll find our new rhthym fairly easily once the first few nights are gotten past. :-)

She says Mama rarely, Da Da all the time and she learned to say Boo. She made me laugh one day because for awhile she didn't say Da Da very loud, it was only in a whisper so she was walking behind her walker whispering "Da Da Boo...Da Da Boo" Lol Little nut.

There isn't a whole lot to update far as Dana and I are concerned. He's spoken to the department head honcho and has pretty much been guaranteed the supervisor position this summer so we're still waiting but excited.

I've been able to take on tasks that don't really pertain to my position but that's been fun. I just got done arranging to get quotes for screens for the windows in our office, it was fun we had a few really good ones and one total loon lol! I also just got done doing price comparissions for Sam's Club vs Office Depot/Target/King Soopers in relation to paper towels, toilet paper, soap etc and discovered as I suspected I would that Sam's will save us a bundle if we go with them so my boss is really excited about switching to Sam's for those items. Bonus for me is the company will pay for my membership as a way to reimburse me for going to pick up the supplies! Woo hoo! I already get the soda's, water's and juices so it's not that difficult to add paper goods to the pile! I was also told that I'll get to help out with the more clerical side of financials so I'm very excited to take that on!

I've got a couple jewelry shows coming up, the dates haven't been solidified but it's looking to be the start of May which is fine. Hopefully that will promote more shows!

My parents celebrated their 30th anniversary April 12th! I called and said Happy 29th only to be corrected...I like to blame it on early alzheimers that I "forget" I'm 28. For some reason even though I don't care about turning 29 I have this brain burp that I'm only 27 still and about to turn 28. Must be a subconcious reason! Lol Oh well!

I also joined up with Myspace after much deriding it for being "for kids. Ridiculous. Immature. Dangerous because of the pedophiles I kept hearing about on the news." etc etc etc. So after all that I joined because I had a few friends on there and much to my surprise I've actually gotten to liking it! I've found a few friends from high school that I'd lost touch with and it's been really nice to re-connect with them.

I think that pretty much catches up our month!
