Our Journey of Love: 06/01/2008

Dana and I celebrated our 3 year anniversary by going to Indiana Jones-good movie if you haven't seen it, little weird at the end but enjoyable none-the-less, had dinner at Dave and Busters then played a bunch of games. We had such a blast! My friend Candice was kind enough to watch Karalee for us so we didn't have to keep her busy while we played! We played this bowling game where the ball is on a pedestal and the ball rolls 360 degrees. Well the first game we played was called Yosemite and you had to roll between and past these tree's, navigate over a creek and then hit the pins. Yeah, first 4 frames I got zero's all the way across it was pathetic! Dana on the other hand was nailing pins left and right! I finally figured it out and ending up beating him by 10 points, then we played the San Francisco one. Holy crap. First you have to navigate past these trolleys that are turning into you, coming at you head on, avoid running into the cement guard things on the sides, and if you miraculously make it past all that you have to make it up this huge hill....need I say Dana kicked my behind? Lol I got like 10 pins the entire 10 frames and he got something like 80+ lol. He was sweating and my arms refused to function after that! Was a total blast though!

Karalee had a blast too, she LOVES my friend's son! I swear all he has to do is walk in the room and she's bee lining for him! Lol He's 7 and so good with her. They were playing hard all the way up until we picked her up at 10PM! Stinker was still up and having a blast! Fell asleep within minutes once we got home and slept like a rock. Thanks Candice, you rock! Poor Candice did get the dubious joy of an explosive diaper, just when she was thinking "Hey having a baby again isnt' so bad, maybe I should have another"...okay I made that last part up! Lol Karalee let loose an explosive diaper that shot poopy all the way up her back. Yeah after that Candice wasn't so keen on entertaining the thought of another baby lol. She adores Karalee though and it's such a relief to have her able to watch Karalee for us, they have so much fun together.

Took Karalee to her one year appointment and she got 2 shots poor kid. Luckily she's yet to ever have a reaction to any shots so knock on wood that continues! She weighs 19 pounds 6 ounces and is 29 inches tall. Doctor cleared her to sit forward facing which was very exciting news! Says she looks fantastic of course and for us not to worry if she goes through days where she doesn't eat much because that's normal as they try and figure out walking. He made me laugh because he said "Watch out for stairs now that she's figuring out walking, those are probably next." I laughed and went "Doc, she's had those figured out for months lol." He was surprised but pleased. It was funny. She's also cleared to eat everything which excited Dana because now she can have honey so he's looking forward to that!

I went to the zoo with Karalee this morning and was so disappointed! They had hardly any animals out so we saw a ton of people in the enclosure's cleaning and setting food out etc. We hung around for about an hour then came home and we both crashed for a 2 hour nap, felt so good! After that we went and picked Karalee up a new carseat!! I LOVE it!! I know it makes me dorky to be so darn excited but oh my gosh it's just so cool!! It's a Britax Marathon and goes up to 65 pounds so we're going to get LOTS of use from it! She loves it too, we went for a quick around the block trip after I got it installed-first she was mad because "Darn it I'm in a carseat AGAIN today!" but then she realized "Hey, I can see Mom, I can see out the window!! This is cool!!" And she started giggling!

She's doing pretty good with walking, she's trying it more and more but still prefers crawling to walking so far. She giggles up a storm and it's so funny what will crack her up. Last night she was taking a bath having a good ol' time and in strolls Buggy our cat. Well, for those who've never met Buggy she loves to drink water from a faucet or bath. So she's licking the sides of the tub and making Karalee laugh hysterically. Well she decides, I'm going to hop on the side of the tub. Well that was just too much temptation for me and since Karalee was back far enough I "nudged' Buggy into the tub which pissed her off and she attempted to navigate out. I of course being my fathers daughter laughed my rear end off at the sight, Karalee was perplexed for a few seconds trying to figure out just what happened but seeing how hard I was laughing-it's honestly a good thing I'd taken care of business before or I probably would've had some wet drawers-decided it was pretty funny and joined in laughing. Her other favorite laugh out loud bath time activity is to take her alphabet letters that stick to the tub and stick them on Mommy. She thinks that's just the funniest thing she's ever seen.

She does have a bit of a cold and, as is quickly becoming tradition in our home, Dana has now caught it 10 times worse then she has it. She's got a runny nose and a tiny cough her and there. Poor Dana has a runny nose, congestion, sore throat, headache etc etc etc. So he's started popping vitamins with me in hopes to ward off the next attack lol. Poor guy.

Let's see, I'm off this week with Karalee since her daycare is closed to paint the inside of their home so I've been planning activities for us. As you read above we hit the zoo and Babies R Us today-that's such a dangerous store for me! Tomorrow is the aquarium, Thursday will be the zoo again and I don't know what we'll do on Friday yet. In between all that my goal is to find our basement again during her nap times. We'll see though! I found a new tear free sunscreen that I used on Karalee and seems to have worked. Poor kid always ended up with sunblock in her eye because she'd rub them so I went in search of one that wouldn't bother her. So far so good! No sunburns, no painful eyes it's looking good!

My friend Candice had a garage sale and I got some great books for Karalee, a really nice shirt that once I find a cami to wear under it will be nice to wear, and Candice was nice enough to give me her son's old toddler bed for free! It's a beautiful natural wood color and I'm excited for her to try it out when she's old enough! For now it's crib only, she moves around way too much lol. Karalee is napping once a day now and has been for the past few weeks, and she's sleeping all the way through the night still! Yea!!!

She's got several words to her vocabulary now, she can say Tiger-tiguh, Dog-Du, Dada, Mama, Boo-Buh, Hi-Hu, Hot/Out-they sound really close so I'm not sure which is which 100% of the time, she's working on Thank You-Dank ou....I think that's all her discernable words for now lol.

Other news is I went and chopped my hair for a short summer cut. I loved it when I first got it, now I'm so-so about it. I get a lot of compliments and that's nice. I'll grow it out again for the fall/winter months. I just like to change it up here and there, sometimes I change it too much lol. Oh well. It grows back right? Lol I went from past my shoulder blades to just above my shoulders. Yikes!! I colored it too to bring out more red. Not a massive change but just enough to highlight.
