Grins, Giggles, and Birthdays

I celebrated my 28th birthday over the weekend and it was so much fun! Our friends Jim & Gregg took us out to Marie Callanders-so yummy!- where I wolfed down two bowels of potato cheese soup and some chicken tenders... 'course I did have to share my soup with Dana AND Karalee! Lol Girl loves the taste of that soup! Then she helped me blow out my candle on my piece of pie, thank goodness for her help or I might not have made it! Wink. Monday Dana gave me my gifts and cards from himself and Karalee...then a chocolate cake! YUM!!! No wonder my pants don't fit right! LOL I again enlisted Karalee's help in blowing out candles, afterall it was a fair amount!

What Karalee thinks of Miami Vice

Dana got me a gorgeous Sapphire necklace and Miami Vice dvd's, my best friend and I swapped gifts via snail mail so I'm curious what I'll get there! Lol I know I got Miami Vice season 3 & 4 from him so far which is exciting. Yes, it's true I am that dorky! Lol

Karalee has been having a blast playing with the 3 month old little boy at her daycare, named Greyson. He's a cutie! She loves to grab his hands and toes when he waves them around, 'course that gets her to giggling which sets Greyson to giggling and then the adults all have to join in on the giggling!

She's been giving rice cereal a shot...some days she likes it better then others. Most days she really does not care for the taste. We have another month before we're allowed to introduce any other foods to her and I'm getting excited! I can't wait to see what she'll really like and what she'll avoid like the plague! 'Course as you read above I did sneak her some potato cheese soup but it was just on my fingertip and since she didn't turn into a bundle of rash I doubt it caused any harm. Hee hee

Here's picture's of Karalee's take on rice cereal:

Yuk...what IS this stuff???

She's getting more expressive every day! She can find you now if you're out of her line of sight and call her name which is pretty neat! She'll look around until she finds you and then she gives you this HUGE smile! I love it! She's also getting so much stronger! If you're holding her on your lap she can sit straight with out much support and she's trying so hard to master getting herself up into a sitting position! She'll be laying down and you can see her lift her head & chest up but she just can't quite get up yet. She's also getting really good about lifting herself off her tummy and looking around, she gets those legs going but hasn't quite figured out to move her arms too for forward momentum! She's pretty well mastered rolling over, although for us she'll only roll from her back to her tummy and rarely from her tummy to her back even though she does it like a champ at daycare! Little stinker! She loves to touch people's faces as they're talking to her and if you're not careful she will snag a handful of hair! I can attest from personal experience it hurts like the dickens to get it away from her! Kiddo's got some serious strength in those little hands! Lets see...she's about to move up from Stage 2 diapers into Stage 3's! Kiddo is growing so doggone fast! She's also decided that certain glasses are terribly scary! I don't know where she got that in her head but I know my daycare lady had on a pair of sunglasses while she was holding Karalee and soon as she got close to those she bawled! Same thing happend to another friend of mine with just her regular glasses! Poor lady felt terrible she'd made Karalee cry even though it wasn't her fault!

We booked our tickets for the trip in November to meet up with my baby board friends and I'm so excited! We'll also be seeing family which will be exciting as well as my Dad and his side of the family haven't met Karalee yet so they're very anxious to see her! It's going to be a quick trip and our first with Karalee so I'm a tad nervous about how it will go. I'm sure it'll be fine, she's such an easy going kid for the most part. Lugging all her stuff on the other hand may just break Dana's and mine's back! Hee hee

I'm so looking forward to Halloween! I can't wait to dress Karalee up as a lady bug and show her off to the neighbors! I think we're going to go to Boo at the Zoo as well. That's basically a day where the kids walk around the zoo in costume and there's various candy stations. I love going and seeing what everyone's kids dress up as! Plus this way she'll get to wear her costume twice so I'll have gotten my money's worth! Heh heh

I went to a jewelry show at my friend Gail's house, those are always so much fun! Little dangerous as it's easy to spend too much but I was really good so I was proud! I'm friends with the lady that presents the jewelry so I'm meeting her for lunch tomorrow to discuss getting into the business as a side job. Sounds like you can make pretty good money and unlike Avon this is something I've seen first hand sell very well so I'm pretty excited to get more information. I'm not going to leap into it with pocket book out obviously but if it's something I can do one day a week or something I'm interested in seeing what it can do. Every little bit helps for savings!

The lady whom adopted Sylvester sent pictures of him playing with the kittens she just adopted! He's doing fabulous at her place! NO peeing accidents, he loves her cats etc. I can't even tell you how relieved I am that he has a happy home! He's so spoiled and loved on and seeing the pictures of him laying in laundry baskets or playing with those kittens just warms my heart! Here's some pictures of Sylvester:

Paint me a rose

Dana got tired of our white walls in the family room and decided that over Labor Day weekend we should paint. Good thing he's motivated 'cause I was sure willing to be lazy! Hee hee The colors came out fantastic we think, I think we're going to use the color that's on the entertainment system on the back wall all the way down into the kitchen but we haven't decided for sure.

We found a great home for Sylvester where he's loved & spoiled! He's using the litterbox like a champ & having a blast with the womans other cat. She fosters animals for the Dumb Friends League and fell in love with Sylvester while fostering so she kept him! She also is fostering some kittens right now that they didn't have room for. We're so thankful he has a great home!

I dropped Karalee off at daycare this morning & as I was chatting with her care giver tossed Karalee in the air a few times which is always a good way to get a smile...well I got a laugh!!! Her first laugh at something we've done!! I'm so excited! It made my entire day! She did it a little bit for Dana when we got home too! We're charging the video camera so we'll get her laugh recorded soon as we can.

Time to feed my growing girl!

I should know better...

...then to think I could get away with being busy and not posting pictures of Karalee. :-) So here are a couple of her at 4 months. She's now 14 pounds 3 ounces, stands 24 3/4" tall. She is in the 50th % on all her measurements. Her doctor was surprised she knows how to blow raspberries as that's typically a 6 month trait as well as her finding her toes which she's done for a few weeks now. Of course Dana and I are proud, we knew we had a genius on our hands! Wink :-) She's wearing a jacket in a couple of the pictures because it was a chilly day so I wanted her to be warm. As usual we have pictures of her and Dana but none of the photographer. :-)

She's hungry so I'll be back later to post pictures of the family room all painted. Looks great! I'll catch you all up on our lives then as well.
