Our Journey of Love: 07/01/2007

Yesterday started out interesting, I had Karalee in my arms as I let Max out for one last "potty" break before we left & across the street at our friends house there was a dog sitting on their porch barking away like he owned the place. They don't own a dog so there shouldn't have been one on their porch, I debated briefly about going over to see if I could read it's tags to call the owners but nixed that right away because of Karalee & not knowing if the dog was viscious. So I get Max & we all go back in the house. I called our friends (felt so bad as it was only about 6:10 and I woke them up) to let them know about the dog. Well later that morning we get an e-mail saying when our friend went out to check the dog it attacked him! He opened the door & it started growling at him, teeth bared! So he went back in, grabbed a broom hoping to shoo it away....it snatched the broom & tore a huge chunk out of it! He ended up having to call animal control so he could get to work. We all think it was a dog that got abandoned because we've never seen it around the neighborhood and it didn't have tags. Makes me mad someone would just abandon him like that. What if that dog had chosen our porch to sit on instead & I'd gone out with our baby & Max unknowing? What if we hadn't seen it sitting on my friends porch & he'd walked out to get the paper? All the what if's add up pretty quick! Thank God no one was hurt. Dana said he'd just read a story about the same type of dog (it was a bulldog/pitbull mix from what we could tell) attacking an elderly lady in her home! The cops had to shoot it through the glass door & again outside to get it to stop! Killed the dog obviously. Ya know I know many people who say "Pitbulls aren't dangerous unless you teach them to be mean." I'm sorry but I quite frankly disagree. They have a hair trigger & what's sweet one second can attack the next. Ok I'm off my soap box now. :-) On to more pleasant topics!

Karalee had a blast watching the fireworks! I was a litte worried she'd be scared but she was fascinated watching all the colors explode! Few of the really loud ones made her jump but no tears! About halfway thru she decided she was hungry so I fed her and she fell asleep with all that noise! Wow!! We watched the show on July 1st from this great location our friends knew about. Please forgive the quality of the pictures from that day, we forgot the camera (we remembered the video camera though!) so I took these with my phone. :-)

We went to a bbq at a friends house on the 4th of July, well the little girls of another set of friends really wanted to hold Karalee so we decided they could long as we kept very close to catch her just in case. Well, the first little girl was having a great time....until Karalee overflowed her diaper while sitting on her lap! LOL Both she and Karalee had an outfit change after that hee hee. Her sister was luckier and didn't get pooped on when she held her lol.

We got her a little seat called a Bumbo that helps strengthen her back & that will also help strengthen her neck. She first sat in one at daycare & loved it so we figured we'd better get one, she looks like such a big girl sitting in it!

She's having a blast at daycare, in the mornings when I drop her off she's wide eyed & looking around excitedly! Bad thing is she's a terrible napper there! Takes maybe two 45 minute naps so by the time we see her in the evening she's over tired & cranky. Ugh. I can't blame the daycare people because they do try, she's just so curious about what she's "missing" she won't sleep really well. She catches up on the weekends! Lol :-)

I'm excited that my friends from my pregnancy site & I are all trying to meet up in real life! I've met Staci & that was great, I can't wait to meet everyone else! We're going to Chicago sometime in October is all we've nailed down so far so Dana, Karalee & I will get to see my family which will be fun. It'll be a fast trip, probably Fri-Mon. Best of all Southwest has one way tickets for $49 each so we can fly for inexpensive! Now if Southwest could get you to Tucson with out bouncing you all over the place! Lol

We have a plumbing guy coming over at 10:30 to move one of the back yard faucets to the front. Everyone in our development has it that way except us! They put them both in the back which is ridiculous.

Other then that we don't have much going on so I'll finish this with a bunch of pictures!

I love this picture because you can see her gorgeous eyes! The outfit was a gift and I was worried she'd never get to wear it because it's been so hot! We finally had a cool day so I dressed her up!
