Changes

Well I decided it had been awhile since I'd done any hair coloring so I went for a dark auburn hoping for a lot of red to show up.....it's alright but not quite the WOW factor I was hoping for. :-) At any rate we have our interview with a daycare tonight and I'm hoping that goes well since it's uncharted territory for both Dana and I. Here's the 35 weeks 1 day belly shots and you can also see the new hair color. And to make the day even more interesting the stretch marks I'd been lying to myself about are still there. Sigh. Although interesting enough, least to me, they aren't at all where I expected them! They're way back near my back! What the heck is that about? Lol

Logic or something like it.....

So last night I had a meltdown over something ridiculously minor. Naturally poor Dana is trying desperately to follow this latest train of thought.....and God help him the poor man went the logical route. Sigh. Of course in my "logical" mind I was on a totally different track so he therefore earned the look of death as I explained the issue. Since as we all know pregnant women are totally logical at all times right? HA! I picture my logic as a piece of paper crumpled, then folded into a paper airplane and tossed into the wind to go whichever way the wind takes it. That's about as logical as the route will get. Lol Luckily my humor is still intact and we were able to laugh about it later. Do you feel sympathy for him? I do, not that it's likely to help as the pregnancy progresses but I do realize in some part of what's left of the rational side of me that I've gone insane. :-)

On other news Dana being the smart cookie he is solved our sump pump erosion issue! Our sump pump lets out all the water it collects just as it's supposed to, however in the design of the house by our brillant builder it simply pooled and caused a grand canyon in part of the yard. So Dana hooked up some pvc pipe and elbows in order to route the flow of water elsewhere. Voila problem solved! Best of all if you ever have a bad day the glue he bought will get you higher then a kite in about 2 seconds. Smelly stuff for sure!

Had a friend of mine call me today as her work was raising funds to help kids with cancer so after the hello it was how much money can I wring from you? Lol They were having a contest at her work and she was in first until this morning. Well being second just would not do! So we all pitched in and we (meaning all the individuals she sucked the blood from wink wink) helped her win by $35! Woo hoo! And for those who don't realize my sarcastic nature by now this is all said tongue in cheek so no one getting all injured feeling. :-)

Also lined up the pediatrician that has privilages at the hospital so we're good to go on that front with Karalee. Whew. We will have to switch not long after though simply because this office is farther then I care to go, about 30-40 minutes away and there's a doctor who's only about 10 minutes away they just don't have privilages at the hospital. Feel like we're just ticking right along!

I have a baby shower to attend on April 13th for an ex co-worker so that should be interesting. I always enjoy seeing my friends that still work there and showers are usually a lot of fun. Plus who can pass up the food? :-P Then there's my shower that friends of mine are throwing on the 15th and I'm looking forward to that! I get more gossip time! Woo hoo!

Big excitement is my thank you cards shipped yesterday so I should get those soon! I'm very excited! Already have a couple I need to fill out for people that have given us goodies early. Everyone's been so kind it's really a blessing, we've had neighbors we almost never see give us a package of diapers and a blanket! It's amazing how generous everyone has been and we appreciate it very much!

Karalee has decided my right side is the place to be and loves to wedge herself under my ribs. What fun that creates! Especially if she chooses to do it as I need to lean over to tie my shoes! Lol Mostly these days she's just bulging one side or the other of my tummy out so Dana doesn't get to feel a lot of movement but he has felt the knot she creates once or twice.

Vacation time's over....WAH!!!!

Well I just got back from dropping my best friend off at the airport. :-( It was such a bummer to see him go, I had the best time hanging out with him since we hadn't done that in ages! Weds when he got in we just hung out at the house and got caught up on stuff. Thursday we went downtown to the art museum which was really interesting and then we also went to a local bookstore called Tattered Cover. We went to the New Belgium Brewery and Budweiser on Friday. 'Course on each tour-they are free I might add-you get samples so he got 4 samples to try at the bar at New Belgium and then they give you another one on the tour! Then Budweiser gives you 2 samples so he had those, including one that has caffeine in it.....hm logic there beer people? Lol He said it wasn't bad, tasted like redbull mixed with beer. Oh and I might add that since the poor guy is allergic to cats and being the good friend I am I have 2...........he popped I think it was 3 prescription allergy pills, 3 claritin and 2 sudafed all before touring the brewery's! I coulldn't believe he was still standing! Lol Then that evening we took him to our favorite Mexican place that (I'm told) makes killer margarita's so he had one of those! He said it was like drinking a shot of tequila each time he took a sip! Yeah he was done for the night lol. Saturday rained-poor guy I swear every time he comes to town it rains on him!-so we just hung at at the house watching movies and chatting. Sunday we went to the Botanical Gardens for their bug exhibt and to of course check out the flowers, then we went to the zoo so we had quite a day of walking! Dana got drafted to bbq that night! Today we went downtown and checked out my work and had lunch at a local deli, then toured the 16th street mall as well as another Tattered Cover bookstore. They're huge bookstores and I have to admit I was impressed that they had good prices, lots of room and a large selection of bargain books! Can you tell in 3 years I'd never gone in? Lol I just didn't think they could be all that special but boy was I wrong!

These are from the brewery's we visited, New Belgium and Budweiser are both in Fort Collins and give great tours. New Belgium is very environmentally conscious and Budweiser is to a certain degree. It was really interesting to get the history of both places and to see the differences! New Belgium if you aren't aware makes Fat Tire as well as several other types but Fat Tire is the most well know. And Budweiser, well they make budweiser! Lol
David sampling at New Belgium

These are the bikes mostly owned by employees at New Belgium. Once you've been there a year they give you a bike, I personally think it's because the employee's are "sampling" and they don't want them in cars! Hee hee

David outside of Budweiser

David at the Budweiser tasting, this picture cracks me up because he looks so mad and he wasn't at all! Lol I just caught him at the right time! LOL

These are from the Botanical Gardens:
David-I made the poor guy pose as much as possible!

David and I-can you guess who won the belly contest? lol 'Course it does depend on whether the contest was the smallest tummy or the biggest.....hmmm now that I think about it I'm not sure which rule we were going by! LOL

Cricket statue-they did several bugs and I hear even had hissing cockroaches you could pet........um yeah glad we missed them!

Alright it is close to dinner time and I better get going!

Invitation Site

I have a friend of mine who's started a business designing invitations, thank you cards, save the date cards, birthday cards etc. Basically any type of event you have she can do! Her name is Jessica Schwebel, she's very creative and does a great job. She's currently designing my thank you cards for the shower and from what she's shown me so far they look amazing! She's reasonably priced and very pleasant to work with! I hope you'll take a few minutes to check out her site and to contact her if you have any events you'd like to have her work on. www.myspace.com/creativeexpressions1127

Thanks for taking a look and I hope you'll order or pass on the info!

"New" Shirts

No time to do a usual post at the moment, my best friend is in town and I think we're going to the art museum today which should be interesting. Haven't been there in a bit!

My friend Tanya loaned me some maternity shirts since it's gotten warmer and I didn't have that many geared for summer. They're very comfy and nice! I love that I didn't have to spend more $$ for maternity stuff since we're getting so close! Thanks Tanya!

I think in a few weeks Dana and I will pick out the video camera we want and pick that up, no we are not taping the birth but you can bet we'll be taping plenty after she arrives! :-)

Here's the 34 week belly shots

Baby Business

Dana and I went to a class that is offered for free at the hospital we'll be giving birth. It was great! They take you on a tour so you can find where to check in and where you'll be giving birth, what the rules are etc. Everyone is so nice and they assured us numerous times our daughter would be with us 24/7. Even if God forbid she needs to go to the nursery for monitoring or anything Dana or I are allowed to go with, they assured us that anywhere they take our daughter we are able to go which made me feel so much better. They also have a cot for Dana to sleep in the room with us should he decide to which I think is really considerate. They also helped us fill out all our paperwork for the hospital so we don't have to worry about that when we get there, we even did the birth certificate form although that obviously won't be finalized until she's born and we proof read the document! That was really the most excitement of our weekend!

Karalee has pretty much picked nudging me on the right side although she will hit other areas her favorite is the right side. Loves getting up under my ribs and seeing how far they'll move. :-)

Other news is they put buffalo in the wild life refuge next to our house! We haven't seen them yet but we've been told they are out there so we're anxious to see them appear!

Still a Girl!

We had our last ultrasound yesterday and unfortunatly because she's getting bigger and the space is getting smaller not too many came out that well but we did get a great one of her face and few others. She's a beauty! Here's the best picture of her face.

We got to see her mouth moving and that was so incredible! She's forming great and even getting hair! This picture supposedly shows hair, me I just see squiggly lines but who'm I to say! Lol The hair is on the right and there's an arrow pointing to it.

We also got a print out of her heart and the beats per minute which is so neat to see! She's holding steady at about 140 bpm which is very good!

It occured to me a few days ago that since when they measure your due date it can be plus or minus 2 weeks that Karalee could be here as soon as 5 weeks! Wow. It seems like only this morning I was telling Dana we're pregnant and here we are weeks away from giving birth! Time goes so fast and I can only imagine how fast it speeds up when she gets here!

Here are the 33 week belly shots

Time to clean house and get laundry done! Have a great one everyone!

Ole

Had dinner at our favorite little Mexican place last night with several friends so the night was filled with laughter! I was such a bum yesterday and didn't even shower and get dressed-meaning out of my pj's-until about 1:30PM. I had such a hard time falling asleep the night before I just took the day to catch up on sleep. 'Course my neighbors stopped by and I had to answer the door grungy and probably pretty scary looking since my hair was sticking up in all directions! Lol I love the timing of things for that! Lol

I'm reaching that point where I'm done being pregnant. Both mentally and physically! Lol I'm ready for my daughter to be here (so I think! Lol) and I'm really ready for my figure to come back. Nothing like wondering where the heck my waist went lol. Mostly though I just want to stop being so stopped up in my nose and be able to breathe again. I have to say that's been the worst part about this pregnancy, I've been very lucky it's gone easy for the most part. I haven't started waddling yet and from what I hear I should be a good month or so away from that thank goodness!

I'm having lunch with a friend of mine who just had a little girl a couple weeks ago soon so I'm looking forward to that. Can't wait to see her and meet her little one. Bonus is she's loaning me her maternity shirts so I'll have more of those to choose from as the days get warmer!

Other then that there's really nothing new to report on so I'll just post my 32 week 1 day belly shots and head downstairs for some breakfast!

Here we go

Alright I know I'm behind in my posting so here goes at catching up! :-) Things are still going great for us which is very nice! Had dinner with our friend Jim on Friday night and then Saturday night we got to catch up with our friend Bryan and his friend at Olive Garden. Was nice to see him since it's been quite awhile! Sunday I came down with a case of feeling yucky so I didn't do much at all other then laze about the house feeling pitiful. Lol

Karalee is getting stronger and her movements are much more easily felt. She actually startled me this morning on the way to work since she decided to elbow me or something on my left side, she's normally pretty quiet when I'm driving so it was most unexpected! Lol I have an appt tomorrow just to check the heartbeat and all that good stuff, March 16th we'll have another ultrasound done just for our curiousity and to confirm she is indeed a she. Dana's been getting horror stories from his work so he really wanted another ultrasound before she arrives and I'm certainly not going to turn down seeing her again!

I keep forgetting that I have more limitations now, such as how much room is actually left of my tummy which is not much! Lol No more eating everything in one sitting or I feel like I'm going to pop! Walking uphills has it's days where I swear my lungs have expanded as far as possible and that's still not enough lol. On the bright side my sleeping is still pretty un-interrupted, mostly just waking up to move to a new position.

I promised some pictures of my work and here they are! This is an old historic home called The Butters House that the company I work for owns:

This is the main bldg, my in-laws took this picture

Main Staircase as you come in front door

Pic of my office

Another pic of my office

View from my office window-we own the bldg you see it's a carriage house that is rented to a computer business

I also promised pictures of the night stand once we got that together, so here's a pic of that and the infant to toddler rocker my Grandma and Aunt purchased for Karalee.

And of course no post from me is complete with out the belly shots! Here are the 31 week shots
