Monday Tears

I just read that Barbaro was euthanized today due to further complications. It broke my heart to read that, I had such high hopes that he'd make it and go on to lead a happy life as a pasture horse. His owners issued a statement and are crushed to have had to come to this decision. Here's the link for anyone who'd like to read about this inspiring horse. http://msn.foxsports.com/horseracing/story/6421288?MSNHPHCP>1=9012 I know with everything else going on in the world this is hardly a blip on most people's radar but for me it was something to root for and it breaks my heart it had to end this way.

Call the Waaaaahmbulance

Snow....snow....snow....and more flipping SNOW! Denver has been hit every weekend for the past 6 weeks with snow. Sigh. I know I know all you out there in IL and such states are laughing your rear ends off at us! I don't care if the snow hangs around but I'm really ready for it to stop ADDING to the accumulation lol. AND we're supposed to get nailed again next weekend! Good grief! Enough already! We fold! No more!

Okay enough of the whining about snow. I kept the car on Friday to do some stuff at work so I dropped Dana at work and took off for the interstate to head to my work. Was pretty nice driving although I don't miss the interstate which was bumper to bumper all the way to work. Yucko! Dana and I had lunch together though since I finished up my tasks in time and then I hung out with him at his work....very interesting people work there! They have a K-Fed look a like (who's favorite phrases include "For Reals??? Word) and of course a ton of women talking all manner of things! Got to meet both his bosses who are very nice guys, the one is the father of two little boys so we chatted about babies for a few minutes. His female supervisor threatend to touch my tummy to which Dana was quick to warn her from Lol. So far I've avoided the traps of strange people just touching you with out asking and therefore no one has come away maimed and bloodied. Ha ha ha

Karalee is moving around quite a bit this weekend which is nice to feel, she's been kinda lazy the last few days! 'Course she aimed her moving around bedtime last night but I'll take all I can get of her! Dana's felt her move a couple more times so she's not stiffing Daddy on all her movements anymore which is really nice for us all!

Okay here's my schleppy pictures from 26 weeks 1 day........I thought I better take these before I forgot so you got my "Just out of bed" pictures. I looked better later and really should have done them then but par for course didn't so these are what you get. Lol

25 weeks

Had my doctors appointment on Friday just to check weight-we won't even get into the discussion of weight gain lol-and to schedule the glucose test. We went over the ultra sound and doctor says everything looks great! Karalee's heartbeat was 147 so she must have been sleeping when I went in! After my next appointment I'll be going in every two weeks, seems like we're going so fast time wise! I'll be just starting my third trimester at my next appointment. Eek! Dana and I are looking into the childbirth classes so that will be an interesting journey I'm sure! I have been having braxton hicks contractions which the doctor says is fine long as they're random, don't come with pain, and don't happen 4 in an hour so I'm okay there!

Went shopping with some friends today and couldn't resist these two dresses for Karalee!

It was so fun to shop and just hang out, went with one friend who's a month away from giving birth so of course she and I ooh'd and ahh'd over all the baby stuff while our other friend who's not expecting checked out jewelry! We all got to gossip and chit chat about life in general which was very fun!

Other then that there really isn't too much else going on right now! I haven't taken new belly shots, probably just take them next week since there's not too much difference from last week to this week. :-) Here's a pic of the car seat Karalee will be riding in for awhile.

We've also been asked where we're registered by a number of people so I thought we'd post the info here. We're registered at Babies R Us and also at http://www.felicite.com/X/?SapphireCl

Feel me yet?

For the first time last night Dana got to feel his daughter move! She was nudging very insistently so I snagged his hand and just when he thought it was another ploy she popped him one as if to say "I am in here Daddy, mommy's not just gaining a beer gut"! LOL She got him a few more times before deciding she was ready to settle down for the evening, it was so exciting! And his face was priceless, the shock and love that were on his face was so neat to see!

We haven't had too much else really going on, we're getting freezing temperatures but are hearing snow should be very minimal to none at all which is nice! Of course now what's occuring is the roads and sidewalks are becoming ice since it was warm enough to start melting but then did a 180 and froze it all.

Dana and I learned together how to put in a car seat, discovered the first one we got-Dana's parents bought the car seat for us which we really appreciate!-wouldn't stay stable in the rear facing position but did great forward facing. So after several hours and days of fighting with it we returned it for an infant carrier that says it goes up to 1 year.....we'll see! It's great though, doesn't move all over the seat like the first car seat did and has a high safety rating which we're very pleased about. Installed in minutes which thrilled us!

We've been planning out trips and visits the last few weeks, looks like we're going to be very popular with this new addition! We have Dana's parents planning to come out the end of May, my Aunt and Grandma in June, and then we're going to a wedding in AZ in July where we'll see family and friends. Whew, just when I thought I was busy now I get a reality check of what it's really going to be like to be busy! Lol Plus one of my best friends is hoping to come out in March which would be great! He wants to compare bellies! Lol I don't know, I'm a pretty good contender for that kind of contest! Lol

For everyone that's asked Max is doing great with his epilipsy, he gets his meds twice and day and stays seizure free! He loves the peanut butter twice a day so he's been on best behavior to make sure he gets it! Lol He cracks us up every day with his goofy antics! For those of you who haven't had the pleasure of watching Max "help" shovel here's a comic that perfectly shows Max. No wonder his nickname is Marmaduke!

I am now officially 24 weeks and 1 day pregnant! So far I have learned leg cramps are really unfun and that tying my shoes is about to become a luxury I won't have much longer! I can still bend over but I have to take a deep breathe, lean over, tie the shoe, come up for air and then do the other shoe.......yeah that's a sight to behold! Lol It's all worth it but my am I on a learning expedition! Here's the belly shots of me taken yesterday at 24 weeks.

And here's a picture of Max playing with his blanket that just cracks me up! He gets to growling so loud it's a little unnerving but his tails just wagging away and he'll let go the minute you tell him to but my does he sound viscious when he's "killing" his blanket! Lol Watch out 'cause if you're not fast enough he'll get you by accident! Lol :-) That's one of his toys he's holding in his mouth.

Here's a few of my favorite pictures from Dana's 32nd birthday at Texas Roadhouse!

Did you know it's hard to get enough space to take a photo when you're in the same booth seat? :-)

We had the pleasure of Dana's parents joining us for Christmas so that was fun. They are headed out tomorrow afternoon and lucky for them they shouldn't have any snow to slow them down! We had a wonderful visit and a very merry Christmas! I hope you all got as spoiled as we and our little one did! :-)

Went to Texas Roadhouse for Dana's 32nd birthday, he's getting up there! Hee hee Got stuffed from all the wonderful food! I made sure he got sang to so the whole restaurant knew it was his b-day! I'm so evil but boy was it fun! Lol

Well I'm pooped from a long day so I will end this post and catch up with you all tomorrow with current belly shots!
